Director, Client Partnerships and New Business Development (two positions)

Position Overview

HORN is seeking to expand its sales team with a highly driven, personable, client-centric, and results-focused business development professional. This is a senior business development role focused on driving new business via new client acquisition. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive business and sales experience, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets by acquiring new clients, particularly in the Sales and Leadership Development space.

This role involves sourcing and leading influential discovery meetings with senior leaders to precisely pinpoint their needs, sculpting and presenting customized solutions with the support of our internal team of solution experts, and securing contracts.

Success in this role requires a strong network, deep experience, particularly on the digital side of the Learning and Development world, an ability to collaborate with internal colleagues, strong influential communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Responsibilities

  • Generate sales volume that meets or exceeds targets, through direct selling efforts
  • Identify, target, engage, and develop new client relationships with influential c-level decision-makers
  • Develop and leverage professional networks and strategic partnerships to drive awareness and engagement with prospective clients
  • Conduct consultative, insightful discovery meetings with prospective clients to precisely uncover the performance challenges HORN is ideally suited to solve
  • Develop customized, well-written proposals that precisely meet client performance needs
  • Deliver influential presentations and digital product demonstrations, speaking the language of executives
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop customized client solutions that result in sustained change and business impact
  • Follow-up with finesse and tenacity to close contracts on a timely basis

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • University degree and 10+ years of business experience, minimum of 5 years in a business development role
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets through acquisition of new clients
  • Proven ability to sell intangibles or conceptual services in a business-to-business (B2B) selling environment
  • Hunger for results and entrepreneurial spirit that creates a burning desire to overcome obstacles and achieve goals
  • Strong business acumen to engage and connect with senior business leaders
  • Exceptional ability to earn trust and credibility quickly
  • Strong questioning and critical / conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong business writing and oral communication skills

Strongly Preferred:

  • Digital savviness with experience selling digital learning solutions
  • Experience selling leadership and/or sales training solutions
  • Passion for leadership and team development, with knowledge of corporate learning and development
  • Proven ability to advance relationships and projects in competitive, complex buyer environments
