Account Manager - Business Development

Senior Learning Consultant - Instructional Design

Mandate
Reporting to the VP, Design & Measurement, the Senior Learning Consultant, Instructional Design is responsible for leading the design of learning solutions for our clients, consulting with key stakeholders within the client organization. You will actively lead all key phases of the project life cycle from assessing client needs to evaluating training effectiveness.

What you will do:

Conduct preliminary needs analysis activities including one-on-one interviews and focus groups
Translate client needs into training objectives and design outline
Review summary of findings from preliminary analysis and design outline with clients
Develop participant and leader materials such as workbooks, leader guides, case studies and learning aids
Design and develop sustainment and measurement components

What you will bring:
Mandatory Skills


University degree and certificate in Adult Education or a Canadian Training & Development Practitioner designation (CTDP)
Demonstrated experience leading and managing Learning and Development projects

Five to ten years experience in Instructional Design, grounded in adult learning principles, acquired through formal education and practical experience

Excellent writing skills, with a strong attention to detail to ensure all training materials are developed with consistency and high quality

Superior analytical skills, with a keen ability to synthesize data to identify key patterns and themes that uncover relevant client skill-development needs

Experience presenting in front of senior management and C-level executives

Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, enabling the ability to build rapid confidence and credibility during client interactions


Additional Assets:

Academic and practical on-the-job experience in measurement of training program effectiveness
A minimum of three years of experience in sales and/or management
Fluency in French
Fluency in QuarkXpress

Learning Consultant - e-Team

The e-Learning Solutions team at HORN is looking for a talented, passionate and creative instructional designer. Instructional designers at HORN aren't just designers. They are Subject Matter Experts, user experience architects, and interaction conceptualizers. They epitomize what it means to be a Learning Consultant.

As a Learning Consultant you will drive your projects by identifying the needs of the learner audience, and crafting leading edge experiences for our clients. You need to have the ability to focus on the finer details and nuances that will make the project a success, while continuing to keep your eye on the big picture in order to bring the end product to life. You will achieve this by working with an experienced design and development team who will assist in making your vision become a reality.

For many of your projects there will be no layers between you and the client. As a result, you need to have strong verbal and written communication skills to present and support your decisions. This, in addition to your knowledge around learning principles and technology-based learning best practices, will allow you to provide the world-class consultative experience our clients expect from us.

Your experience building Program Flow and Learning maps, as well as Detailed Structure Outlines and Design Documents to outline the structure of learning experiences will be essential in this role. In addition, extensive experience designing using Instructional Design Plans / Storyboards is a given. But being able to push boundaries within provided design parameters is what will set you apart for this role.

Facilitator
(Full-time and Contract Positions Available)

Mandate
The facilitator(s) will work closely with both the Vice President, Facilitation and Vice President, Client Project Leadership, and be primarily responsible for the successful delivery of facilitation, coaching and e-learning training to HORN clients.

In fulfilling this mandate, the individual will also work closely with a number of internal stakeholders/project team members at HORN in order to gain a detailed understanding of the requirements of the engagement as well as any required client-specific context.

Responsibilities:

Represent HORN in the delivery of engagements - facilitation, consulting, coaching, e-Learning - as required, and as agreed upon on an as-needed basis

Represent HORN in the course of all interactions with clients, ensuring all communications reflect and support the ideals of HORN

In preparation for all engagements, gain an understanding of the client's business, reviews proposals prior to meeting and ensures alignment with HORN stakeholders - instructional designer, project manager and account manager

Responsible to ensure the thorough review of all session materials is completed prior to each session and understands the client objectives for each engagement

For contract facilitators, each will be responsible for establishing an agreed upon method for HORN to view availability 60 to 90 days in advance

Qualifications:
To succeed in the facilitation role, you will require:

Highly fluent in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French and English
Accustomed to engaging in discussions within a corporate/training environment in above languages

A minimum of five to seven years' experience as a senior facilitator with proven experience leveraging adult learning principles

Practical knowledge of various industries is desired; industries may include: banking, pharmaceutical, insurance, consumer packaged goods, hospitality and travel, technology

A minimum of five years experience as: a senior leader-manager and role model within an organization; a leader of cross-functional project teams; a department manager with tactical work planning and individual performance coaching responsibilities

Excellent oral & written communication skills, proven relationship-building/relationship management capabilities, strong decision-making and negotiation skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to effectively manage conflict, constraints and competing priorities

Full proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) as well as the aptitude to learn/fully utilize existing and future HORN proprietary information systems
